Now I don't want to go on and create a conspiracy theory although... that's exactly what I'm kind of doing. Starting off on this rant I haven't looked up any other similar points of view on this matter. I would be very curious when we started prioritizing grass only as the only vegetation in our property. My idea is that it must be in some way to prevent people from obtaining their own food or other beneficial plants. By spreading misinformation about the plants and labeling as weeds. When most of the common "weeds" are healthy and edible! As well as controlling people from not so easily getting food sources from themselves but relying on the start of massive corporations to be the only source of food in our lives.
I am deeply interested as to why a good chunk of plants that are hardy and nutritious with medicinal purposes are villainized and deemed weeds. Also I wonder the correlation between ridding our common spaces of floral vegetation and the decline of the bee population. Not to be too wild in my thinking but we have known that foraging has been looked down upon and restricted and taught as a bad thing due to racial motivations. Grass lawns were popularized by the Levitt's a openly racist family who created our modern suburban living. My thoughts aren't quite put together in the most eloquent way but I think you can see the points I'm getting at.
It leaves much to ponder on.
